Hero — Implied Transparency

Gouache

This piece was exhibited for one year at the UNC Charlotte Career Center Art Gallery. Project for 2D Design exploring implied transparency and a rectangular tetradic color scheme. Developed a composition of overlapping silhouettes of animals and plants to communicate the theme of predators vs. prey. High-contrast color relationships were used to create simultaneous contrast and visual tension across the composition. Select elements such as the mouse, bee, and flower were colored red to suggest vulnerability and decay, while butterflies were shifted into similar hues to indicate danger. A snake motif was incorporated with an altered underlying form, transforming a flower into snake eggs to strengthen the narrative of predation. The palette emphasizes saturation variety and contrast to heighten visual hierarchy and emotional impact.
